Cologne Chamber Soloists

Founded by a cosmopolitan group of young musicians, the CCS has quickly become one of the leading ensembles in Germany.  With innovative programming, the highest quality performances, and unrelenting energy, they have changed the musical landscape of Cologne with their concert series Kammermusik für Köln, now going into its fourth season of sell-out concerts.This pioneering ensemble, formed of 11 players who hold leading positions in some of Germany's most illustrious Orchestras and Conservatoires, has an impressive repertoire ranging from duo sonatas to large ensemble works, classical to contemporary. The CCS has also commissioned modern composers to arrange large scale orchestral works for smaller ensembles; an example being a recent commission of Wagners Wesendonck Lieder for Mezzosoprano and 10 players from Simone Fontanelli, which was highly commended by critics.
